The DHCP server creates custom IP addresses for every SSID, so you can assign different content-filtering parameters to each SSID—one for students, one for teachers, etc. You’re spared the headache of having to give each user an individual IP address.

Inter-VLAN Routing
Can act as your core router, allowing traffic on one SSID [LINK Glossary] to travel to other SSIDs, the Internet, and different areas of your LAN. [LINK Glossary]

Multicast DNS (Domain Name System)
Network-connected devices, applications, and services can communicate with each, no matter which SSID [LINK Glossary] the user is on.

RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service)
Instead of getting filtered through SSIDs, [LINK Glossary] users enter a username and password to authenticate their status (student, teacher, guest, etc.). They’re then filtered accordingly.

VLAN Firewall*
Prohibits guests and unauthorized users from accessing your school’s local servers when they log on to your Wi-Fi.
